Frances Oram is a Cape Breton artist who has recently begun painting in watercolour. Her individually hand painted all occasion cards have become quite popular as people can frame them as an original painting after receiving them. The cards have traveled throughout the UK, the United States and of course all throughout Canada. Frances has shown her framed original works at some local art shows in the past year and recently began selling reproductions of certain pieces.

Frances also makes homemade hard candy that she sells as Cape Breton Beach Glass Candy. It comes in many different flavours and has been sold in choice gift shops all over Cape Breton Island. It has also done some extensive traveling in care packages for many "displaced" and homesick Capers!

Frances sells her many items at the Cape Breton Farmer's Market in Sydney, CB. It is located on Keltic Drive and is open year round every Saturday from 8:30am to 1 pm. She has baked goods, homemade lip balm, recipe books, Cape Breton stories written by her husband Norman, necklaces made by her talented niece Gina Gammon, her candy and much more!
